Testing Methodology & Editorial Process
Methodology — How We Test AI Tools at AIGetFree
What "Tested" Means at AIGetFree
Every tool reviewed on AIGetFree goes through a minimum 7-day hands-on testing period before a verdict is published. No AI-generated summaries. No rewritten press releases. We use the tool ourselves — across multiple devices, platforms, and real-world tasks.
Test Protocol
- Test duration
- 7+ days of active use per tool
- Devices
- Windows 11 desktop, Android 14 phone, browser-based testing
- Platforms
- Web, desktop app, mobile app (where available)
- Tasks
- 8–15 defined tasks per review, including edge cases
- Versions
- Exact version numbers recorded at test time
- Benchmarks
- Standardized tests where applicable (coding, reasoning, multimodal)
What We Measure
- Performance: Speed, accuracy, and reliability under real workloads
- Usability: Onboarding time, interface clarity, error handling
- Value: Price vs. alternatives, free tier quality, hidden costs
- Limitations: Rate limits, context windows, platform restrictions
- Privacy: Data handling, retention policies, encryption
- Support: Documentation quality, community responsiveness, uptime
Pricing Verification
All prices are verified against the vendor's public pricing page at the time of review. The verification date is listed in every review. Prices change — check the vendor's site for current pricing. We update pricing data when significant changes are detected.
Affiliate Disclosure
AIGetFree participates in affiliate programs. When you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This does not affect our ratings or recommendations. Every review with an affiliate relationship is clearly marked. Our methodology and testing are independent of any commercial relationship.

Correction Policy
We correct errors promptly and transparently:
- Minor corrections (typos, formatting): applied silently
- Factual corrections (wrong version, wrong price): updated with a dated note
- Significant errors (wrong conclusion): article updated with prominent correction notice
To report an error: [email protected]. All corrections are logged and dated.
How Ratings Change
When a tool receives a major update, we re-test and update the review. The original test date and the update date are both listed. Ratings may change based on:
- New features or removed functionality
- Significant price changes
- Privacy or security incidents
- Competitor advances that shift the landscape
What We Don't Do
- We don't publish paid reviews or sponsored content without clear labeling
- We don't accept payment for ratings or rankings
- We don't use AI to generate reviews — every article is human-written and tested
- We don't publish "best" lists without having tested the alternatives
Our Commitment
We test because we use these tools ourselves. Every recommendation is based on direct experience — not vendor claims, not press kits, not AI summaries. If something doesn't work, we say so. If a free tool outperforms a paid one, we tell you. That's the only way this site is useful.
